Wetzel County Schools COVID Guidelines
School Year 2023-2024
Staying Home When Sick
- People who have symptoms of respiratory or gastrointestinal infections, such as cough, fever, sore throat, vomiting, or diarrhea, should stay home
- COVID 19 testing as soon as possible after symptoms start
- If test is positive, isolate at home for 5 days, can return to school on day 6
- Notify school nurse to ensure absences are excused
Masking
- Those returning to school from isolation should wear a well-fitting mask days 6-10
Exposure
- People who have known or suspected exposure to COVID-19 should also wear a well-fitting mask or respirator around others for 10 days from their last exposure, regardless of vaccination status or history of prior infection
- Quarantine is no longer recommended for individuals exposed to COVID-19
