Picture Day is October 24th!

8th Grade Night for Football has been rescheduled for October 17! Recognition of the 8th graders will be held at 5:30.

From the Board of Education Office:
🎥 The recordings of last night's Wetzel County Schools Board Meetings are now available on our YouTube channel with higher sound quality. While the livestream went smoothly, we're excited to share an even better audio experience in the posted videos.

Due to a Frontier internet outage, tonight's BOE meeting will be live-streamed using a cell phone. The meetings will be recorded and posted with clearer audio once internet connectivity is restored. We apologize for this inconvenience, but are doing our best to provide live-coverage as well as improved audio at a later time.

We are loving our new app! Access documents, news updates, and even emergency notifications, right from your pocket.

LDS Goes for the Gold! Principal Kelch recognizes outstanding student achievement and encourages students to do their best this school year.

At Long Drain School Energy Express, students had an ambulance from the Hundred Volunteer Fire Department and two fire trucks from the Wileyville Fire Department. They both taught the kids about the jobs that they perform as well as showed them around their vehicles. We thank them both for allowing the kids to have the opportunity to learn about their local first responders as well as giving them the chance to see the equipment they use.

Ethan Greathouse of Bigfoot Baits came and taught the kids about his small, local bait-making business and allowed them to make a small fishing lure to take home. We thank Ethan for taking time out of his busy schedule to give the kids an opportunity to learn about a local business.

On July 2nd at Long Drain School Energy Express, we had Stacey Judge come out and allow the kids to decorate sugar cookies for the 4th of July as well as letting the kids have a glow-in-the-dark experience. We thank Stacey for allowing the kids to have a fun time!

On June 28th at Long Drain School Energy Express, we learned about what materials allow boats to float and then built our own boats to test what materials would float in the stream behind the school.

On June 25 at Long Drain, we had Emma of the Wetzel County 4-H visit and teach the kids about how bubbles are made. They had the opportunity to make their own bubble wands and also used giant bubble sticks to make big bubbles. We thank her for taking time to let the kids learn and play with bubbles!
