Ms. Cassandra Porter is a graduate of Fairmont State University with a BS in Science Education and West Virginia University with a MA in Educational Leadership studies. She also obtained post graduate certificates from Salem University in Curriculum and Instructional  and Superintendency. Ms. Porter spent 13 years in the classroom before she ventured out into Administration. Ms. Porter worked as an assistant in a high school for four years before becoming the head principal at Sherrard Middle School for the next five years. She was also the head principal at John Marshall High School. Ms. Porter was named WV Secondary School Principal of the Year for 2022. She is passionate about providing educational equity and helping propel students towards their futures.

Paul Huston is the Director of Secondary and Vocational Education, Student Assessment and Strategic Planning with Wetzel County Schools.   Prior to becoming Director, he began teaching at Long Drain school in 1993 where he taught Health, Title 1, and Second Grade for six years.  In 1999, Mr. Huston became the Principal at Long Drain School and continued in that position for 22 years until coming to the County Office.   

After graduating from Hundred High School, Mr. Huston completed his BA in Multi-Subjects K-8 Education from Fairmont State College.  While teaching at Long Drain School, he earned a MA in Leadership Studies from West Virginia University. 

Mr. Huston is married and has two sons who are also graduates of Wetzel County Schools.

Todd Barcus has been employed as the Attendance Director/Student Services Director since the 2011-12 school year.  He began his career with Wetzel County Schools as a substitute teacher in 2001.  He then served in many roles for ten years at Magnolia High School as a teacher, coach, counselor, and advisor for the Science National Honors Society prior to becoming an administrator at the central office.  Todd is a lifelong Wetzel County resident, has a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, and graduate degrees from both WVU and Marshall University.  His wife Angie is also a teacher for Wetzel County Schools, and they have two daughters.
