Parent and Family Engagement Policy

School Information
Hundred Heritage School serves Pre‑K through Grade 8 in the Hundred area. The school maintains strong community identity, continuity, and pride while supporting student transitions and growth.

Purpose

Hundred Heritage School values families as children’s first teachers and essential partners in education. This policy outlines intentional family engagement practices aligned with Wetzel County Schools Policy KCA, WVDE family engagement guidance, and ESSA requirements.

Policy Expectations and Commitments

Hundred Heritage School will:

  • Establish consistent and welcoming communication through newsletters, personal outreach, parent meetings, and digital platforms.

  • Support families as students transition into and between grade levels.

  • Provide families with information on student progress, academic expectations, and behavior supports in a clear and meaningful manner.

  • Host community‑centered engagement activities, including LSIC meetings, family nights, clubs, and local events that strengthen school‑community relationships.

  • Encourage family participation in goal‑setting, attendance planning, and academic interventions, promoting shared accountability for student success.

Shared Responsibility for Student Learning

Hundred Heritage School will collaboratively develop school‑parent compacts that emphasize learning support at home, regular attendance, and positive engagement thru “Leader in Me” curriculum.

Accessibility

All communication will be provided in understandable formats and responsive to family needs.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement

Family engagement practices will be reviewed annually based on parent feedback, participation levels, and student outcome data.
