The festive fun continued with favorite character day at NMS! What better way to celebrate than reading! Miss Amos’ class teamed up and read stories today with Mrs. Mason’s 2nd grade!

What do you get when you mix perfect attendance with a little luck? Two happy girls who won NMS' random attendance drawing! 🎉 Mrs. Barcus’ & Mr. South’s homerooms set the bar high, and these girls got to reap the rewards! They picked prizes from Molly’s cart and took a victory photo with her! Ayla Carr and Aydan McBee were our stars this week! ⭐️⭐️ CONGRATS GIRLS !! 🐾💙💛

Mrs. Bennington's class at NMS became Santa's sneaky elves and crafted some awesome cars. The students had to figure out how to make the wheels and the cars move without getting caught using their hands. The students cleverly discovered they could move the cars with balloons and magnets.

From caroling on the bus to venturing into the magical world of Moana 2, SLS Pre-K and Kindergarten adventurers are spreading holiday cheer and making unforgettable memories! 🎶🌊🎄

Today, VHS students celebrated the last day of the regular semester in style with a hot cocoa bar and their fave PJs. Tomorrow, semester exams will bring them back down to earth before Christmas break officially kicks off Friday. We’re wishing you all good luck on your exams and a very merry holiday break! ☕️ 🌲📚

Behold Paden City Elementary’s stunning tree! 🌲 Adorned with ornaments crafted by students, this masterpiece showcases their creativity. Mrs. Underwood chose an ornament design for each grade and facilitated the activity with help from some PCHS student volunteers.

Paden City Elementary students got to join in on the holiday fun and make decorations for the City of Paden City's Christmas Festival's outdoor Christmas tree. They made bird-friendly ornaments using dried orange slices and fruit-flavored loop cereal. Old fashioned garland was made by stringing popcorn and dried cranberries as well as fruit-flavored loop cereal. 🌲

Staff and students at HHS decked the halls and had a blast with a door decorating contest that brought the holiday cheer! 🎅🏼🤶🏻🌲

NMS fifth grade invited author Brian Croasmun in today to teach a lesson on story elements and the writing process . Students used the movie “Elf” to model and discuss the writing development   Mr. Croasmun and Miss Amos even wore their “Elf “ attire for the special occasion.

“Beans on Wheels” coffee bar at NMS. The Special education department started doing it this week and it has been a huge success that allows students to learn social skills, money math, organization and planning skills. This year, all of the money will be donated to a local animal shelter.

SENIOR OF THE WEEK! McKenzie Clayton is your WCTEC Senior of the Week! McKenzie is a first-year Health Sciences student at WCTEC and is one of our all-day seniors! At her home school of Valley High School, McKenzie has played volleyball and is a member of RAZE. She has also been on the Honor Roll. After high school, McKenzie plans to attend WV Northern Community College to pursue as an OB/GYN sonographer. Mrs. Shepard has been spreading holiday cheer among our 1st and 2nd Grade students at SLS with her Christmas stories. 📚 Next week, she'll return to see if they've solved the mystery of her Trivia question: “From which Christmas story or poem did the phrase, ‘Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!’ originate?” 🎅🏼🤶🏻🌲

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” LDS started Elf on the 12th with Buddy the Elf greeting the students as they got off the bus. 🌲

Santa came to PCE today! Each child had the opportunity to share their Christmas wish. Compliments to Santa’s helpers, our students enjoyed popcorn and a movie. We would like to thank the Movie House for their popcorn donation, and Santa’s helpers for making this a special week for our students! 🎅🏼🤶🏻🌲

Wetzel County Schools would like to congratulate our winners for the highest attendance during the fourth month of school. Congratulations to Paden City Elementary and Long Drain School who led the grade schools with a 93% rate, and to Hundred High School who led the high schools with 92% rate. We also would like to congratulate all of our schools in the county as each school has a 90% rate or higher! Great job! 🎉🎉
