It’s been a whirlwind at NMS lately—with class picnics, testing makeups, field trips, Relay for Life, PK graduation, the senior walk, our GSA reward day (yes, we were all so caught up in the fun we forgot the pictures!), and so much more! With all the excitement, we’re just now getting around to celebrating another amazing group of students—those who showed up on time every morning, gave their best effort, and demonstrated respectful behavior during testing. As part of the celebration, students got a fun lesson in probability as they decided which prize bags to drop their tickets into to boost their chances of winning. We’re thrilled to share that we awarded 128 prizes to these dedicated students! Their commitment to NMS and their education makes us so proud. #EagleMentality

Mrs. Tallman’s Kindergarten class lit up the day with their annual Glow in the Dark Day! Students had a blast reviewing skills they’ve learned throughout the year—like subtraction, CVC words, and sight words—all through glow-in-the-dark games and activities. The room was buzzing with excitement (and glowing with learning)! They even took a few dance party breaks to keep the energy high. What a fun and glowing way to celebrate all the hard work they've done this year!

Our third-grade class recently went on a field trip to the Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex in Moundsville, West Virginia. This trip offered a unique opportunity to delve into the rich history of the Adena culture and witness one of the most significant prehistoric sites in North America.

The Wheeling Miners football team is coming to NMS tomorrow! Students will be outside for this thrilling visit, so please remember to apply sunscreen on your child!

Fourth graders embarked on a journey back in time when they visited the Historic Fort Steuben – a reconstructed 18th century fort built on its original site overlooking the Ohio River. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into early American history and fort life.

Attention 6th-8th grade families: On Friday, May 23 New Martinsville School will be hosting a Summer Bash with beach volleyball, dancing, cornhole, pizza, and drinks from 6:30-8:30. Tickets are $3 each and are pre-sale only during lunch this week. See the attached flyer for more details.

Yesterday was an unforgettable day at NMS Relay for Life! 🎈 Students enjoyed bouncing on inflatables, playing games, and dunking our brave teachers in the dunk tank!
