Menu for the Month of October. 🍕🍔🍉🍓

Ghostly reminder👻

Mrs. Sprowls’ first grade class at NMS created a fantastic door display with the theme “Don’t get caught in the web of drugs.” Their creativity shines! 🕸️

Today, Superintendent Porter had lunch with some Paden City Elementary students. A huge shoutout to the amazing cooks for preparing a delicious chicken masala lunch! 🍽️ After lunch, Superintendent Porter visited Mrs. Starkey’s second-grade class and read “The Night Before Halloween.” 🎃 The class had a wonderful discussion about what they want to be when they grow up and the importance of reading. The students were so polite and full of great ideas! 📚✨

A big thank you to Mrs. Irvin’s class for volunteering to help with activities at Boo at Bruce tonight! Our students are spreading school spirit and community pride while helping make this event a success! 🎃💫

Congratulations to Short Line Volleyball! The team has captured their third consecutive Mason-Dixon Championship! Way to go, girls! Your hard work and dedication continue to make us proud! ❤️🖤🏐

Friendly reminder.

New Martinsville School has launched a new schoolwide reading initiative to spark excitement and build stronger readers! Each wing now features a Reading Tree, where students add a colorful leaf for every 5 books they finish. Monthly drawings are held for students who participate, and the winners get to choose a new book from the book vending machine! It’s all about growing imagination, one page at a time! 💙💛 📖 #NMS #ReadingTree #ReadersGrowHere #WetzelCountySchools

Wetzel County Schools would like to congratulate our attendance winners for the second month of school. Congratulations to Hundred Heritage School, New Martinsville School, and Short Line School who led the grade schools with a 94% rate, and to Magnolia High School and Valley High School who led the high schools with a 92% rate. Also, congratulations to all of our county schools as each one had an attendance rate higher than 90%! Great job!

Today, Hundred Heritage hosted a special “Person and Grandparent Lunch-In” for their students. The cafeteria was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of love as families enjoyed time together. 💕 #HundredHeritage #FamilyDay #WetzelCountySchools

Students in Mrs. Greathouse’s Project Lead the Way class at Hundred Heritage put their creativity to the test by designing and inventing their very own cat toys! To make things even more fun, Mrs. Greathouse brought in her cat, Butterscotch, to try them out. 🐾🐱💡

Stacked Deck is an evidenced-based classroom curriculum that addresses the risks of gambling, gaming, and online activities for youth. It is a 30-40 minute curriculum and is most effective when done one day a week over a five week period. This curriculum requires parental consent. Because it requires school assistance, I am able to provide school activity funds with a $100 donation for a school’s willingness to host a training.

No internet? No problem! In Ms. Long’s 5th grade class at NMS, students stayed fully engaged with hands-on math games and problem-solving on paper. Nothing stops these students from learning! #ILoveMyWVPublicSchool 💙💛

This week is National Sports Officials Week! We want to thank all the dedicated officals who help make our games possible. Your hard work, fairness, and commitment to sportsmanship are appreciated!
