Notification to Parents:
The West Virginia General Summative Assessment (WVGSA) for grades 3-8, an online summative evaluation, begins tomorrow. The GSA assesses student mastery of state content standards, outlining expectations for knowledge and abilities at each grade level.
Grades 3-8 are evaluated in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, while grades 5 and 8 include science assessments.
Historically, spring testing meant waiting 3-4 months for printed scores. Now, scores are accessible online, often as early as the evening after test completion.
This expedited process provides parents and guardians timely information. Students receive instructions and codes via Microsoft email (STU account), with guardians registered in WVEIS also receiving notifications. Schools can assist with access issues.
