Attention Short Line Families. This call is to inform you of two important updates regarding Short Line Sports and Short Line PTO. Tonight at 6:30 PM at the legion fields are the first flag football and cheer practices for kids aged pre-k through 5th grade. If you did not sign your child up prior to today, please bring them this evening to be registered. Also, on Wednesday at 5:00 PM will be the first PTO meeting of the school year. If your child wishes to participate in PTO sports, or you wish to be a member, please plan to attend. K-2 basketball sign ups will start on Wednesday evening as well.

Hello Short Line Families. When waiting at the end of the day in the parent pick-up line, please stay back by the chain link fence. We sometimes have late buses pulling in and they need space. After the first round of buses pull out, one of our staff will signal for you to pull ahead. Thank you for helping us dismiss our students efficiency and safely. Have a great day.

Last evening, The Short Line School Girls Volleyball Team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for 2025! This award is given to the team and fans, voted on by the officials, who demonstrate sportsmanship, hospitality, and respect towards all participants in any given contest. Congratulations to Leah Dunlap and her team for achieving this honor! Engineers achieving in more ways than one.

Aitana Lopez received her award for 2nd Place at the Wetzel County Spelling Bee! Congratulations!

8th Grade Promotion Day May 20, 2026 We are proud of our 8th grade students and their commitment to commencement. Each speech asked students to be kind, learn from their mistakes, and appreciate the small things. They know that it will take hard work to be successful. Congratulations! Good luck at Valley!

Good Evening Short Line Families. This message is for all 5th-8th grade band students and parents / guardians. Tomorrow evening all band students are to report to the Valley High School band room at 5:45 in their concert all-black dress attire with their music and instrument for their spring concert. The concert will start at 6:30 in the Valley High School Auditorium. This is our big end of the year concert and we hope to see everyone in attendance.  Thank you and have a great evening.

Our track team competed last night against thirteen other schools from around North Central West Virginia and represented Short Line proudly, earning some impressive results.
