Happy Pi Day! We all love eating pie, but do you know mathematical Pi? The amazing students of Mrs. LaRue at LDS and Ms. Wildman at VHS just completed a Pi Day breakout challenge, and it was a huge success! They used teamwork, creativity, and their problem-solving skills to solve puzzles, unlock clues, and learn about and celebrate the wonders of Pi. Gavin Derby's remarkable career at Valley High School has culminated in a historic milestone: breaking the all-time scoring record with 1825 points this season, clipsing the previous mark of 1425. Congratulations! 🖤💛🏀

Today, Wetzel County students showcased their excellence in the regional Social Studies Fair. Kyle Mason, Ariel Hall, and Vince Ebert deserve special recognition for their outstanding achievement, which has earned them a spot at the state level. Additionally, Dillion Utt and Jacob Shepherd demonstrated remarkable talent, securing first and second places in their category.

As a reminder, school will be closed for students on Friday, March 14th, as teachers will be participating in a Professional Learning Day.

Short Line property, including the playground, will not be available for use during this time. There will be a large amount of law enforcement and other first responders in the vicinity of Short Line School, and Route 20 will also be affected in this area. This message will be shared in various forms multiple times over the next few weeks. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to keep our students, staff, and community safe. Kindergarten and first-grade education students at SLS have been producing a range of original items for their store, Creative Chaos. This hands-on project allows them to tap into their creativity while honing important skills such as teamwork and responsibility. All proceeds from the store directly support class field trips, providing students with valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom.










What an exciting night for Magnolia and Valley, who both secured regional wins! The stage is set for a thrilling matchup next Wednesday at MHS, with the winner advancing to the State Tournament.
