PCES Fitness Club

Third Grade Engineers! Our 3rd grade PLTW Launch students are hard at work building simple machines. They’re exploring how tools like levers, pulleys, and wheels make work easier.

Second grade PLTW Launch students are investigating whether wheatgrass needs sunlight and water to survive. After making predictions, they’re now observing, measuring, and recording data. Soon they’ll graph their results and share their findings like true scientists.

Our PLTW students are exploring fractions by measuring screws for their VEX builds. More importantly, they are building real world math connections!

Our kindergarten scientists are on a roll in PLTW Launch! They explored the structure and function of the human body and had an absolute blast solving bone puzzles made from X‑rays of their very own hands. They carefully arranged the phalanges (finger bones), metacarpals (hand bones), and carpals (wrist bones) to build their very own skeleton hands.Talk about true hands‑on learning!

Learning Through Light & Shadows! Our Pre‑K students had a fantastic time with Danielle-Ice Davis, Paden City Librarian. She stopped by to teach them about light and shadows. Through hands‑on activities, our little learners explored how shadows are made, how they change, and why they’re such a fun part of the world around us. We’re so grateful for community partners like Mrs. Davis, who help spark imagination and make learning come alive for our students.

We wrapped up our Read Across America week in the coziest way possible—Pajama Day! Students embraced the theme with excitement and spent the day learning, laughing, and celebrating the joy of reading. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful week of stories and school spirit!

We had a fantastic visit from author Brian Croasmun today! He brought Yertle the Turtle to life with his signature storytelling style—sprinkling in historical facts, lessons on perseverance, and so much more. Our students were captivated from start to finish, and we’re always grateful for the inspiration he brings to our school community. We love having you here, Brian Croasmun—come back soon!
