
PCE kindergarten made flags to thank veterans in the Louis A Johnson Veterans Hospital, in Clarksburg for their service . Flags were mailed today to ensure they would be received before Veterans Day!


The students at PCE may not be quite old enough to vote for President, but they all exercised their right to vote today as they cast their ballots for the 2024-25 student council! Braelynn Carroll, Truleigh Gallagher, Leah Minger, and Anthony Veyon will all serve as council members. Based on the votes by the student body, Truleigh Gallagher will serve as President and Anthony Veyon will serve as vice President of the council this year. Congratulations to all!

PCE students and staff had a ROARING good time at our positive behavior celebration!











PCE Book Club had their 1st meeting of the year to discuss our Halloween selection, The Lonely Ghost, by Mike Ford.
The meeting included discussion, refreshments, a game, and Halloween craft.
Everyone got in the
"Halloween Vibe" with the reading of this haunted book.

Mrs. Walls demonstrated the proper posture techniques necessary when singing.
After singing, they practiced counting various rhythms with drums.




Fourth graders were engineers in STEAM today as they designed skyscrapers with Keva Planks. The planks were purchased with a grant provided by the Covestro/Westake/Williams Community Advisory Panel! As one fourth grader stated, “team work makes the dream work!”

Update on our Kid Connections project: PCE care packages were delivered to Tryon Elementary School in Asheville, North Carolina! Pictured are Wyatt, Terry, and Drew Paden. We hope the pictures, letters, and supplies made the students' day a little brighter! Thank you, Paden City Elementary community, for contributing to a very worthwhile cause. One community helping another is a meaningful way for our students to learn the value of empathy! 💚🤍





Update on our Kid Connection care package project . . . Care packages are Asheville, North Carolina bound! Each age specific package includes a personalized note or picture from a PCE student. We are so proud of their act of kindness and the support from our Paden City community! In the words of a child, "Brighter days are on the way!"
What a meaningful way for our students to practice character building and empathy during Character Education Week!
This endeavor was possible with the help of the amazing PCE staff!






Students will be dismissed at 12:15 on Friday, October 18, 2024.

In Striker and Gaga ball stations, students in Mrs. Slider's gym class practice skills to improve their hand- eye coordination and reaction time.

Mr.McGinnis, Mrs. Hurst, and Mr. Flowers brought Buster the Bus to PCES for a bus safety lesson. The students were well behaved and asked lots of questions!



PCHS football players, cheerleaders, and Mrs. Yoho greeted our students with smiles, well wishes, and glow sticks! What a wonderful way to begin the day!







Fourth graders learned how to find perimeter and area with “pixel people” in STEAM! First, students created their design on graph paper, and then had to calculate the perimeter and area of their person.
